Solar Powered Power Packs

A Solar Powered Power Pack can provide electric power to a work site, camp site or other remote location.

Solar powered power packs are units which contain a battery which is charged by a solar panel. The power packs vary in size from very small units which can be carried in a backpack, to larger units suitable for running a campsite. Some have the added versitality of charging from a auto cigarette lighter or A/C plug. Solar powered power packs will contain an inverter which allows you to plug A/C appliances into them. Use the solar powered power pack to run small electric devices and tools for short periods of time at a campsite, outdoor parties or worksite. Some of these things also pack enough power to start a stalled vehicle.

The small solar power packs fold compactly enough to stow in a backpack or tackle box and can be used to power radios, recharge cell phones and run an MP3 player.

Large solar powered power packs can be a bit heftier. Some units include a backpack, making transport to remote locations easier. Other heavier units are unsuitable for this, but provide much more power. Laptop computers, small tools and other electronic devices can be powered by these devices. Some may be charged with a 12 volt battery in lieu of solar power. Additionally some of the larger units can be used to jump start a vehicle with a dead battery.

A solar powered battery pack can be an important tool if your work or play takes you to remote locations where there is no electricity and you need to power your electronic devices.
