Sunroom - Adding A Sun Space To Our Home - Converting A Porch

Having recently decided to add a sunroom to our home, we investigated different types of sunspaces. There are a lot of different types of sun porches on the market and we carefully explored each one.

This sunroom section will be a compilation of some of this research. Hopefully our quest will help you answer some of the questions you may have about adding a sun porch to your home. We have a porch on the front of our home which faces south, overlooking an extensive flower garden and small pond which has a forest as a backdrop.

Our home overlooks a small pond with woodland in the background, so the construction of the sunroom needed to be constructed so as to allow as much an unhindered veiw as possible from the dining area of our home, which is immediately behind the porch. We wanted the sun porch to be usable year round, and since Indiana winters can be cold and snowy this necessitated that the sun room be constructed with double pane glass and have a heating system installed.

The sunroom needed to have ample space for a small table, fountain and a couple of chairs. We wanted to be able to use the room for easy access to the flower garden and pond. We wanted to be able to use it to entertain in as well as enjoy morning coffee overlooking the flower garden. Choices are many, the first of which is whether to choose a 4 season sunporchor 3 season sun room. You may also choose a sunroom kit. Simply enclosing a porch may also be an alternative.

Our ultimate decision was to simply enclose the existing porch, enlarge the existing patio and possibly add a screen porch to the front of the sun rooms.
Adding a sunroom to a home increases its value and provides a sunny place to dine or read. A sun porch is also a wonderful place to be on a moonlight night.
